Matching Grants

The objective of the Matching Grant Program is to leverage First 5 Sonoma County dollars with other funding to promote the development and support of children aged 0 to 5 and their families in Sonoma County. Organizations interested in applying for a Matching Grant must demonstrate a commitment of funding from another public or private source equal to or greater than First 5 Sonoma County dollars.

Matching grant applications are accepted by 5:00 PM on March 15, May 15, and September 15 of each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Awards are made available contingent upon the availability of sufficient funds in the Mini and Matching Grant funding pool. Please plan for a minimum of 90 days between the date of submitting an application and the completion of a contract approving the start of project activities.

Eligibility

Matching Grant Program Applications will be accepted from:

  • Non-profit or public organizations
  • Community groups working under the umbrella of a public or private corporation
  • Private businesses and corporations

Applicants who have previously received five years of funding may reapply on an annual basis for up to an additional five years, provided the current results of program evaluation are included in the application.
